The function of our bought-and-paid-for media is to destroy your self confidence and image, divide your community, lessen your understanding of life and lock you into your 'lower self' (aka animal self, the matrix, low-vibrational state) - living a life of fear, anxiety, greed, over indulgence, bitterness, jealousy, comparing yourself to others, buying into the next war and false science fearmongering narrative ... and so on...
The amount of CNN, BBC, soap operas, (and other subtly brainwashing and demeaning mediums), you watch will be in direct proportion to your self development, self belief, and overall understanding of the bigger picture and your connection with true happiness ...
You're worth SO much more (and equally as important, so are the kids) - so turn that nonsense off and start watching alternative media channels and reading or listening to books from people who love you and want you to develop - instead of the puppets paid by the people who despise you and want you in an unhappy box ... because it's not a good place to be, is it?
