Get your sleeping right! For my desert race I took a combination of sleep gear to see what worked best depending on the Sahara temperature at night. In the end I left behind my gortex bivvy bag and a silk liner and kept my wicked Mammut 2-Seasons bag (400g) and ultralight Thermarest (300g). I used a £350 Yeti jacket (150g) as a pillow - it was too hot to wear it in the evenings. Mammut bought out Ajungilak - a great Norwegian brand - and so with a 4 degrees comfort rating it was perfect! 💤🥱🛏
