The past doesn't exist, only our memories. If you've something from your past that affects your today - analyze it, learn from it, then delete that file. Learn from mistakes and don't repeat them, in the same way you wouldn't put your hand in a flame for a second time.
We have to live in today, for yesterday and tomorrow don't exist. Be mindfulness of this moment, Everything you think, say and act upon, will either cause you happiness or pain, for you and others.
