Captain Robert Lawrence MC, is a former British Army officer with the Scot's Guards. Whilst fighting in the battle for Mount Tumbledown, during the Falklands War, Robert was severely wounded by a bullet going through his skull. The Argentine sniper who was covering an Argentine retreat, then fired shots at a Scout Helicoptor which was evacuating the wounded. Captain Lawrence was awarded the Military Cross for bravery, but spent over a year in a wheelchair, being almost completely paralyzed. Robert had lost 43% of his brain. Doctors predicted he would never walk again, but to their amazement, he eventually regained most movement, although retaining a slight limp and a paralyzed left arm. His story was adapted into a BBC television play, entitled 'Tumbledown', with Colin Firth playing the lead role. This is the real version of events.

How To Row An Ocean & Be A MASSIVE Legend
When I ran the length of the UK carrying a 15kg bergen, I did no training at all because I'd been disabled for 18 months awaiting spinal surgery for a prolapsed disc. I still averaged an ultramarathon a day for 36 days with a huge smile on my face. When I ran the infamous Marathon des Sables across the Sahara (which many people train for years for), I trained for 13 weeks after an 18-month layoff due to personal issues. I ran two 6-milers, about ten 3-milers and a couple of 1-milers. I tried to run 17-miles but sacked it off due to the weather. This didn't stop me completing the MDS by jogging/walking up to two marathons a day in 52 degrees heat - some people that trained like maniacs gave up on the first day and a third of the competitors dropped out.
Before I crossed the Atlantic, I rowed a mile - three times - on the rowing machine in the gym ... before kicking that into touch for being boring.
What I'm trying to say is that you don't have to be ...
Hello Legends ... I have some exciting news coming soon re. our successful Atlantic row - I'll also get some photos and vids sorted - in the meantime let's focus on the import things in life. Here's some ideas in a rough order I employ:
1) Spirit first, ego last
2) Self care - diet, sobriety or moderation, mindfulness, taking ACTION!
3) Family
4) Relationships
5) Environment balance - work, nature, activities, etc
6) Turn EVERY negative into a POSITIVE!
7) Be in Service to others
Hope it helps - don't forget that fiver for others!
Big love
Chris
